Jon Reid is a hospitality and travel based photographer situated in London. Reid travels quite often in his life with his wife. Thus, as a way to keep track of where he has been, Reid has taken a liking to photography. He, along with his wife, uses photography as a sort of visual diary to keep track of all the beautiful places he has been. Although photography started out as a hobby for him, it eventually became a passion. He mostly documents landscapes, as it fully encompasses the places that he has visited.
I personally really admire Reid's style of photography. I looked at Akos Major's photography and saw a certain serenity in the monotone qualities of his colors. However, when I look at Reid's pictures, I also feel a great peaceful feeling. His colors are vibrant and vivid and have stark contrast to each other. When I attempt to capture a landscape, this is generally the vibrancy of color I am trying to achieve. However, Reid's photographs really inspire me not only to continue photographing what I have been and what I have done, but also to travel to all these destinations and embark on a sort of nomadic journey in which photography is the only trace I have of where I have been, what I have seen, and what I have done.
